Adobe Premiere Pro 2018.1 Spring Update

We at Film Impact are always first on board to support the latest version of Adobe Premiere Pro with our creative tools and video transition plug-ins.

Here is what's new in the Adobe Premiere Pro 2018.1 Spring Update.

Before updating, please read this first

Should you jump right in and update Premiere straight away? No, we don’t recommend doing so. Here is why:

  1. New releases of Adobe Creative Cloud applications overwrite prior installations by default. A parallel install of version 2018.0 and 2018.1 isn’t possible.
  2. Projects saved in this new version can’t be opened with previous versions of Adobe Premiere Pro.
  3. If you’re in the middle of a project, it is highly recommended to wait until your current project is done before updating your software.

Now that you’ve read the above, continue to read on about the cool added features…

Shot comparison and automatic color matching between shots

The program monitor has been updated. It now has a dual-view-option to easily make a comparison between shots. This is great for color correction to see if one shot matches another. Things get even more powerful with the automated color matching.

Improved user experience and finesse for the essential graphics workflow

Browsing Motion Graphic Templates makes it easy to walk through your library. More options to tweak the templates right within Premiere have been added. This makes them more versatile and easier to access. We know a lot of you like to stay within Premiere and don’t have to jump back and forth to After Effects.

Auto ducking is now available within Premiere.

A year after the auto ducking feature has been added to Adobe Audition, the feature is brought to Premiere Pro too. This makes is very easy to automatically adjust the audio levels of music and scores to respect any dialogs and sound effects.
